Learning from the past is the best way to predict the future. Jimena Catalina (Creative Supervisor) and I worked together to create this infographic that outlines the history of search engines.

To accomplish this, we divided the information and categorized it into four sections.

SEARCH, in general, includes the most generic facts about search.

SEO includes the facts that have influenced organic rankings.

SEM is the area that encompasses the main events that have changed the online industry and online media landscape.

SOCIAL starts at the beginning, far from search engine’s recent changes, and moves to where social is key to search.
